Q.1 What is Web Design?

Ans: Web design is the process of putting together a website from conception to online publication. Consideration is given to each component that will ultimately render a website usable by its target audience. Web design encompasses a broad skill set, including technical proficiency, interpersonal communications, and an aptitude for design. Web designers are hired to produce websites according to customer specifications.

Q.2 What type of tasks are involved in Web Design?

Ans: Work closely with customers to answer questions and to gain an understanding of project exceptions.

Ans: This question can give you an idea of how in-tune they are with the latest industry trends and technologies, as well as how passionate they are about web development. It will help separate the people who do it as career as well as a hobby from those who might simply be in it for the big developer pay checks.

Q.5 What sized websites have you worked on in the past?

Ans: Find a developer that has experience similar in size to the project you are putting together. Web developers with high traffic, large scale site expertise may offer skills that smaller-sized developer do not such as fine-tuning apache or optimizing heavily hit SQL queries. On the other hand, developers who typically build smaller sites may have n eye for things that scale developer do not such as offering a greater level of visual creativity.

Any developer worth d damn should be least be able to write a simple HTML document without relying on external resources. A possible exercise is to draw up a fake website and ask them to write the HTML for it. Keep it simple and just make sure they have the basics down- Watch for mistakes like forgetting the tags or serious misuse of certain elements.

Ans: SEO is one of the most effective things you can do online, getting your website optimized in such a way that the search engines will reward you by basically sending traffic your way. SEO is not really that simple, but the bottom line is, if your page is optimized both on page and off, you generally get higher natural search engine ranking, which leads to traffic for you.

If you have spent time online recently, you have probably read the term SEO, or search engine optimization. But what does it mean, exactly SEO is a term that is used to describe the process by which traffic to a particular site is increasingly generated by search engines by way of search results.

The quality of visitors traffic to site can be measured by analyzing how often a visitor who uses a specific keyword phrase in a search actually performs what is known as a conversion action. That is, how often those visitors make a purchase, download materials, request information, or interest in the product or service the site offers.

Simply put, SEO is marketing through an understanding of how search algorithms work combined with a knowledge of what human users might search for. The end goal is to create a site that contains words for which people will likely search when looking for information such as that contained on your site.

Ans: As a web developer you must know  Cascading style sheets (CSS) are used for applying the presentation layer of the page and it is recommended by w3c.

Ans: Style sheets are the way that standards-compliant. Web designer define the layout, look-and-feel, and design of their pages.

They are called Cascading style sheet or CSS. With style sheets, a designer can define many aspects of a web page.Fonts, Colours, Layout, Positioning, Imagery, Accessibility.

Style sheets give you a lot of power to define how your pages will look. And another great thing about them is that style sheets makes it really easy to update your pages when you want to make a new design. Simply load in a new style sheet onto your pages and you are done.

Q.13 What is property?

Ans: Property is a stylistic parameter that can be influenced through CSS, e.g. font or width. There must always be a corresponding value or values set to each property.

Q.14 Can CSS be used with other than HTML document? What do you thin as a web developer?

Ans: CSS can be used with any structured document format.

for e.g. XML, however, the method of linking CSS with other document types has not been decided yet.

Q.15 What is Dojo in web development?

Ans: Dojo in web development is a third-party javascript toolkit for creating rich featured applications. Dojo is an open source DHTML toolkit written in javascript. It builds on several contributed code bases which is why we refer to it sometimes as a unified toolkit. Dojo aims to solve some long-standing historical problems with DHTML which prevented mass adoption of dynamic web application development.
